The Capital Jazz
Society (CJS) was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit arts
organization in January of 2002. The CJS was created by
musicians, for musicians to produce and promote a variety of
jazz events in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Two of the major activities produced by the CJS are the Capital Jazz Society Big Band
performances and the Capital Jazz Series. The CJS also purchases new
music for the library of the
Nebraska Jazz Orchestra.
The CJS is a membership organization and annual dues are $15.
Members are entitled to one vote on matters before the members
at the annual meeting.
The Board of Directors is charged with
managing the affairs and furthering the mission of the CJS.
