| The Nebraska Jazz Orchestra needs your help! |
| Dear Friend of the Arts, As you are well aware, the current economic climate is creating difficulties for many of us, and the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra is facing unprecedented financial challenges. Due to more than $20,000 in lost sponsorships and foundation support and with more such losses feared in the future, the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra has been forced to cancel the final concert of the 2008-2009 season. Guest artist Wayne Bergeron will be rescheduled for the opening concert of the 2009-2010 season, and the winner of the 2009 Young Jazz Artist Competition will also perform on that same concert. We need your help now to ensure that there will be a next season! We hope you might consider sending us a donation--anything you are able to contribute would be truly appreciated and would help allow the NJO to continue presenting big band jazz music in Lincoln. Our next concert, "It's Not Rocket Science," featuring world-class percussionist Dana Hall, will be held March 24th, 7:30 PM at the Cornhusker Marriott. We encourage you to attend and bring a friend to make this now-final concert of the season a great success! Thank you for your consideration and support of the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra. |
