Nebraska Wesleyan University Jazz Ensemble Featuring L.J. McCormick
Join the Nebraska Wesleyan University Jazz Ensemble with special guest L.J. McCormick, trumpet and flugelhorn, for a fun evening featuring your favorite jazz standards and more! The concert will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 7:30 in O'Donnell Auditorium in the Rogers Fine Arts Center on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan University, 50th & Huntington Streets, Lincoln. The program will include the following selections: "The Nearness of You" by Ned Washington and Hoagy Carmichael; "My Funny Valentine" by Lorenz Hart and Richard Rogers; "All of Me" by Seymour Simons and Gerald Marks; "Just Friends" by John Klemmer and Sam Lewis; and "Basin Street Blues" by Bobby Shew.

L.J. McCormick has been playing trumpet professionally for 29 years. A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, L.J. studied with Dennis Schneider both as a high school student and undergraduate. He has performed with a number of well-known artists including: Tony Bennett, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Myron Floren, The Supremes, Rosemary Clooney, Bobby Vinton, Steve Allen and Frank Sinatra, Jr. Locally, L.J. has worked with the Omaha Big Band, The Confidentials, Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, The Chuck Penington Orchestra, and numerous other bands. He has also been involved in several studio recordings, including a National PBS Special
