NEBRASKA JAZZ ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES 2007-2008 SEASON

Lincoln, NE ¡ª The Nebraska Jazz Orchestra announces their 2007-2008 season of events. The 32nd season of the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra will feature outstanding, nationally-known guest instrumentalists and vocalists, popular big-band favorites and exciting new arrangements. Guest artists for the season include acclaimed pianist Joe Cartright, Nebraska-native vocalist Susie Thorne, internationally-celebrated trombonist Matt Niess, world-class trombonist Bill Watrous, acclaimed New York trumpet soloist Scott Wendholt, and some of Kansas City¡¯s finest jazz musicians, Gerald Spaits, Ray Demarchi, Roger Wilder, and Charles Perkins. Season tickets are available: Adults $90, Seniors $75, and Students $40. Season Tickets are offered to new subscribers at 50% off the regular price. General admission tickets for individual concerts may be purchased in advance or at the door for each concert. Ticket prices are: Adults $20, Seniors $17, Students $10. Concert times and locations are listed below. Pre-concert dinners are held before each of the four evening concerts at a cost of $22 per person. Nebraska Jazz Festival All Stars featuring Bill Watrous | Saturday, March 15, 2008 | O¡¯Donnell Auditorium, Nebraska Wesleyan University ¡ñ 7:30 pm
Trombonist Bill Watrous is one of the greatest jazz musicians of our time. He has worked with artists including Quincy Jones, Maynard Ferguson and Woody Herman and has played in the Merv Griffin Show house band. He will join NJO musicians for an all-star evening of jazz.
