| Dear friends, Join Nebraska Jazz Orchestra musicians and Kansas City saxophonist Kerry Strayer for an all-star night of jazz. Dave Sharp of Ottumwa, IA; Brian Grasmick of Las Vegas, NV; Pete Madsen of Omaha, NE; Peter Bouffard of Lincoln, NE; Tom Harvill of Lincoln, NE; Andy Hall of Lincoln, NE and Joey Gulizia of Omaha, NE will join Kerry Strayer to perform arrangements from his jazz ensemble, the New Kansas City 7. The concert serves as the culminating performance of the Nebraska Jazz Festival, one of the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra's many educational outreach programs. The Nebraska Jazz Festival is a two-day festival of clinics, master classes, adjudications, and performances featuring high school jazz ensembles from across the region. The concert will be held Saturday, March 10, 2007 at O'Donnell Auditorium on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan University at 7:30 p.m. This performance is included in the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra season ticket package. Priority seating for season ticket holders and Jazz Club members is at 7:00 p.m., with general admission seating beginning at 7:15 p.m. Single admission tickets are $20 for Adults, $17 for Seniors, and $10 for Students, and may be purchased by contacting the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra business office at (402) 477-8446. Admission to this performance is free to all Nebraska Jazz Festival participants. Kerry Strayer is active as a band leader, recording artist and private instructor. He leads both the New Kansas City 7 and the Kerry Strayer Orchestra, and has released six recordings including the critically acclaimed "Jeru Blue - A Tribute to Gerry Mulligan" with Randy Brecker and "Mentor" with Gary Foster. His latest release is a big band Christmas CD, "Kerry Strayer Orchestra, Christmas in Kansas City: Music from the Plaza Lighting Ceremony" featuring Kevin Mahogany, Kelley Hunt, Lisa Henry and Ron Gutierrez.
